Broadway Center will begin development in the second quarter of 2006. As a mixed use residential-retail-entertainment project, it will spur the revitalization and renaissance of the rest of the Broadway Corridor.

The project will encourage a variety of residents, including young families, empty nesters, professionals and the newly graduated to live, work and enjoy the city and its environment. It will be a place where residents can walk to restaurants, specialty grocers, the theater, the beach, the doctor, the dentist.

Although most of the beautiful new housing along the beach is used seasonally, Broadway Center will be a year round development offering market rate, affordable and moderate priced townhouses, condominiums, university housing and live/work studios, along with two performing arts centers and a variety of quality retailers and restaurants. The range of building types will provide options for small business owners and operators to realize a downtown address. Perhaps the most exciting part of the plan is the inclusion of loft-style spaces which front Broadway and provide space for visual and performance artists.

Broadway Center is the centerpiece of the City’s overall revitalization plan. It has always been the strategy of Long Branch’s rebuilding initiatives to include this site as the revitalized cultural center.
